Growing Vegetables in Containers

I have been growing a wide array of vegetables in an even wider assortment of containers for many years.

Marigolds pull at least a triple duty in the home garden. They look good; keep bugs at bay, and the gem variety, add flavour to meals

Hot Peppers

This week's article in the Tribune: Growing hot peppers. I am growing Hungarian Black peppers this year.

How do you know how hot a pepper is, the Scoville scale is the answer. The Scoville scaleis the measurement of the heat of chili peppers as reported in Scovilleheat units(SHU), a function of capsaicin concentration. The scale is named after its creator, American pharmacist Wilbur Scoville.
