Yesterday was a great garden day. I had the opportunity to observe the under 12 youth program plant their two community garden beds. The first bed was a pizza garden. Onions, tomatoes, basil and peppers were the main crop. This garden will help the children relate to the foods they eat.
The kids started the plants from seed, looked after them and then planted them in the raised bed.
The second bed was a bean, pea and broccoli garden.
